GBG named Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award winner 2023

The global technology organisation is recognised as one of the world’s most engaged workplace cultures

29 MARCH, 2023, LONDON GBG, the experts in digital location, identity verification and fraud software, today announces it has been named a winner of the 2023 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA). The company has been recognised by Gallup for placing team engagement at the heart of its business strategy, embedding engagement into its culture. GBG is one of only two companies headquartered in the UK to win the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award and one of only 57 companies to be awarded globally.

James Miller, Chief People Officer at GBG said, “It’s a huge honour to be recognised by Gallup as an Exceptional Workplace Award winner. At GBG, our continued mission is to have and support the best and most engaged people in the industry - we know we grow when our people grow.

To be recognised by Gallup as an elite global organisation is a testament to our incredible team members around the world who are key to our success. Their continued hard work and unstoppable dedication has underpinned GBG’s evolution into one of the world’s leading identity software providers.

At GBG, our employee experience is defined by our inclusive culture and how we show up every day, but, most importantly, placing our people at the heart of all our decision–making. As a result, 95% of our people say they would recommend GBG as a great place to work.”

The Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award was created to celebrate those who achieve exceptional performance by fostering a culture of engagement. The award honours thriving organisations that have attained world-class performance by making engagement a cornerstone of their business strategy.According to Gallup, the GEWA winners’ ratio of “engaged employees” (those committed to their work and connected to their workplace) — to “actively disengaged employees”, is 16 times higher than the international average. Worldwide, only 21% of employees are engaged. While in comparison, on average 72% percent of employees at winning GEWA organisations are engaged.

Jim Harter, Chief Scientist of Workplace Management and Wellbeing at Gallup said: Gallup’s 2023 GEWA winners proved that even during some of the most challenging times, strong cultures are resilient and find new ways to get work done and meet customer needs. These organisations continued to make employee engagement a central cultural priority as part of their business strategy, and they maintained record levels of employee engagement.”

Gallup’s meta-analysis on team engagement and performance is one of the most comprehensive workplace study ever conducted, with data on more than 2 million employees in 276 organisations across 54 industries and 96 countries. Highly engaged organisations significantly outperform their peers in important business outcomes, including customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, quality, wellbeing and organisational citizenship.
