Life at GBG with our Marketing & PR Manager

In the latest edition of our ‘Life at GBG’ blog series, we talk to Natalie Green, UK Marketing & PR Manager for our Location Intelligence Services, about what a typical day at GBG is like.

Natalie became part of the GBG team last year when the business acquired PCA Predict, award-winning address validation and data validation specialist.

I first joined PCA Predict six years ago (when it was still called Postcode Anywhere) after moving back to Worcester from Bristol, where I had been working as a Data Quality Manager for the Institute of Physics Publishing.

I was hired to help build the company's exposure in the trade and national press, and was promoted to PR Manager before eventually moving into my current role – UK Marketing and PR Manager.

It’s a hugely varied role which involves driving demand into the regional sales team, maximising conversion and building brand awareness. One day I might be supporting the content team in organising a webinar, and the next I could be calculating performance or evaluating budgets.

My day typically begins with opening up all our different marketing and analytics tools, such as Hubspot and Google Analytics, to see how our campaigns are performing and how they can be optimised. I get a great deal of job satisfaction from seeing a campaign come to life and find it so rewarding when we're featured in the national news

Currently, the team is busy working on our brand unification project, in which we're bringing together GBG’s five location intelligence brands, to create one combined, world-class brand, Loqate. Our customers will benefit from a combination of the richest datasets available and unparalleled capability and user experience.

The project has meant I have been able to work with colleagues all around the world and across the business. We have regular video calls and use Microsoft Teams to keep track of what everyone is working on across our different locations. Time differences can often make arranging meetings quite difficult, but our project management tool helps keep everything running smoothly. 

I think it's great how GBG is so committed to creating a friendly, welcoming environment which you feel every day when you step into the office. I feel supported and encouraged to develop, and perhaps most significantly, I've made some great friends along the way.
