A post by Chris Prior, Identity Solutions (IDS) Development Manager at GBG.
GBG’s IDS Delivery Team is delighted to have been nominated and subsequently shortlisted for an award in the category of Best Internal Agile Team 2015; an award received by a team or project which has used Agile disciplines to the greatest benefit of the overall business.
This shortlisting sees us up against internal teams from the likes of Ordnance Survey, Telefonica UK, and Sky UK. The full shortlist of nominees for all this year’s awards can be found here.
For those not familiar with the term, Agile software development is an iterative approach to delivering software projects which places a stronger focus on Individuals & Interactions, Working Software, Customer Collaboration and Responding to Change than more traditional project management methodologies. The Agile Awards have been recognising the challenge of adopting Agile for over five years. You can read more about Agile in the Manifesto for Agile Software Development: a series of values defined back in 2001 on which all Agile methodologies and frameworks are based.
Over the past two years and by leveraging the core ideas defined in the manifesto, GBG’s IDS Delivery Team has developed a reputation within the business for reliable, on time and to budget delivery. There have been bumps along the way, but by taking the time to listen and respond to the needs of our customers in the business and by placing a strong focus on the individuals within the team we have developed a strong culture of continuous improvement.
Some of the most prominent products delivered by GBG’s IDS Delivery Team are the award-winning GBG Connexus, as well as GBG Matchcode360 and GBG Datacare. Over the past 6-9 months the team has also been integrating the wider teams responsible for GBG ClaimsID, GBG Trade and GBG Transactis who have joined the group.
Each year the Agile discipline’s top talent and strongest supporters attend a prestigious black tie event during which the shortlisted candidates for 16 separate awards will be whittled down to leave only the winners. Representatives from GBG will attend the 2015 awards evening on 12th November at the Montcalm Hotel, London.
